In August 2018 I joined Good Energy with a specific remit to deliver a high quality account management experience for their domestic customers for energy supply and a range of small scale renewable electricity generators.

Energy infrastructure companies are not known for their elegant modern data systems. Nearly two decades of domestic energy generation systems and metering technology provided another area of complexity.

This role required bringing together a vast range of often unreliable data sources through a funnel of services to support the mobile application. The project broke much new ground in the Good Energy organisation. Prioritising real UX design processes & engaging with customers was key to success. This app is now ranked in the top 3 UK energy apps available today.

The reviews are still a mix of 5 stars from people who’s customer data is in good shape, and those who are experiencing some of legacy issues that proved insurmountable in the course of this project. The team at Good Energy are working very hard to ensure that these problems are solved in their entirety.
